Name 10 of life's simple pleasures that you like the most, then pick 10 people to do the same. Try to be original and creative; try not to use things that someone else has already used.
1. Having a free Saturday with absolutely no plans and having an opportunity to sleep until you can't sleep anymore...like today
2. Having a good conversation with someone and getting to know him/her for real. It's funny that this might take months or years after knowing someone to have a conversation like this.
3. The outdoors. Anything outdoors: mountains, lakes, beach, snow, rain, parks, nice sunsets, cloudy days, sunny autumn days...no desert, though =)
4. My dog Theo running up to me excitedly and licking me after I've been gone for a few days.
5. Cooking only when I'm not pressed for time. It's therapeutic.
6. To really know that God is present and in control. Takes a load off, doesn't it?
7. Food. Either trying a completely new food or eating something that you've had time and time again, but it turns out really good. Like the other day, I had a sandwich at the airport. I thought it would be just another sandwich but it was DELICIOUS; a portabella mushroom sammy with sprouts, avocado, lettuce, tomato, a slice of jicama, swiss cheese and humus spread between two slices of fresh rosemary bread. That was the first vegetarian sandwich I've ever bought and it was one of the best sandwiches I've ever had. Who'da thunk it?
8. Traveling...near or far. It's so intriguing to see and experience different places and cultures. There is too much that we've all never seen.
9. Finishing a book!

Last month, Frances and I had the awesome privilege of going to Spirit West Coast on the Bridge Bus, thanks to our good friend Jessica! We also got to meet Steven Curtis Chapman backstage! He's tight...but kinda short...
Anywho, here's some pics...

The whole bus and SCC!
Oh yeah! On the bus ride to Laguna Seca (that's where this was held), this dude that works for the radio station came around with a recorder to interview people about why they like 100.7 the Bridge. When they came up to us, Frances spoke first and she said something about "they play Christian music." Then they asked me and I really didn't know what to say...so I just said, "Hi, I'm Ben and I'm from San Lorenzo...and I like 100.7 the Bridge because of the variety of Christian music they play." AND KAPOW! I'm on the radio! They've been playing that clip on 100.7 this past week! Man, it was so cool! Haha, but i feel really bad though, cuz Jessica (who's the biggest Bridge fan to ever walk this earth, and who nominated us to go to SWC in the first place!) would LOVE to be played on the radio! I really shoulda said "I like 100.7 the Bridge...but Jessica likes it more!" Anyway, I got played on the radio, even though I sorta elaborated on Fran's comment, even though my grammar was incorrect, and even though I spoke in a non-excited monotone voice. Sweeeeeeet.

I'm at Fran's house. I like dogs....a lot. Fran likes the Clay Aiken song...and Plus One. She also likes to wear the same pair of pants for 7 days in a row ("only around the house," she says). Brittni likes Strawberry Shortcake. Her lemon meringue pie bombed. Nick just got a fresh aZn FaDe. It's real nice. He likes to spike his hair up. Shaw-sae just came. One time, Shay's rabbit (Roger) bit a hole in my first UCLA shirt. Ok, peace out.
